Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026 · emtypyie / wiki

This Privacy Policy describes how the emtypyie wiki (wiki.emtypyie.in) handles information when you visit. This is a personal technical documentation site — there is no account system, no user profiles, and no tracking beyond what is described below.

What We Collect

This site collects minimal data. Specifically:

  • Like counts — when you click the like button on a project page, a POST request is sent to api.emtypyie.in with the project identifier. No personal information is transmitted. A timestamp is stored in your browser's localStorage to enforce a 24-hour cooldown — this never leaves your device.
  • Standard server logs — like any web server, requests may be logged by the hosting provider (Vercel) including IP address, browser type, and page requested. These logs are governed by Vercel's own privacy policy and are not accessed or stored by us beyond what the platform retains automatically.
  • No cookies — this site does not set any cookies. Theme preferences and like timestamps are stored in localStorage locally on your device.

What We Don't Collect

  • No email addresses, names, or contact information
  • No browsing history or cross-site tracking
  • No analytics scripts (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
  • No advertising identifiers
  • No fingerprinting or device identification

Third-Party Services

The following external services may be loaded on this site:

  • GitHub — avatar images on contributor cards are loaded directly from github.com. GitHub's own privacy policy applies.
  • Vercel — this site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel collects access logs as part of standard infrastructure operation.

No advertising networks, social media trackers, or third-party analytics are loaded.

Data Retention

We do not maintain a database of visitor information. Like counts are stored server-side as aggregate numbers only — no association with IP addresses or sessions is kept beyond the immediate request. localStorage data lives entirely on your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Your Rights

Because we don't collect personal data, there is nothing to request deletion of. If you believe data about you is being retained in error, contact us at the address below and we'll investigate immediately.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect it. We don't send email notifications — check back here if you have concerns.
